Back to Christmas creating.....

Only 1 week till the big man in the red suit visits me at my new Granddaughter's house!!!  Woohoo I am getting super excited now.  I hope he finds me okay.  I am sure Peri will make enough noise so he knows which house I am in :) :)

So it is gift wrapping time.  I love it when I have found those perfect gifts for everyone and it is then time to wrap them up. and put them under my tree.  I have a modest tree this year as I have only been in my new "sea change" house for 6.5 months and still can't find all my decorations :/  Next year will be much better and hopefully will have all my family back in Australia again celebrating Xmas here with me.  Sounds of children (little ones and big ones) laughing and splashing in my pool is what Christmas is all about.

I am using all the brown paper that I have received in my Stampin' Up! delivery boxes during the year.  If you are anything like me I can't bring myself to put it in the Recycle bin so it grows during the year!!! I have also thrown in some of the Festive Designer Kraft Paper Rolls which are in the Year-End Closeouts sale for $11.89.

I have even gift wrapped a couple of scratchies for easy small gifts to good friends' family members.  I love my Envelope Punch Board and it is getting quite a lot of use at this time of year.  Not only have I lined a few of my Christmas Cards envelopes but also made these cute Scratchie Holders.  I am also using up my Designer Series Paper which I have quite a lot of at the moment. My favourite stamp set I have been using a lot this Christmas too is "Get your Santa On"  Here I just inked Santa up with my Basic Gray Stampin' Write marker and then coloured his suit in using my Real Red Stampin' Write marker and then cut him out using the Deco Labels Framelits Die.  I added a belly band using the Burlap Ribbon and the Real Red 3/8" Satin woven ribbon which is on sale in the Year-End Closeouts till January 5 or while stocks last.

My families Christmas gift tags are nice and simple this year.  I did use a retired stamp set "Christmas Collectibles" because it had a "To/From" bauble and then just added a wee bit of Washi Tape to jazz them up a bit :)

A break from Christmas creating...

I have a male friend's birthday coming up soon so it was a nice break to think of something masculine, instead of Xmas things for a change.  Masculine is always a wee bit trickier and I tend to go to the same set of stamp sets all the time.  The ones with boats and bikes etc so off I go to Pinterest for a little inspiration.

I am back and I found this great idea from Valerie Thorpe in South Africa....Thanks Valerie :)  I used the Stars theme idea and added my own touch.

Have I mentioned recently how much I just love Stampin' Up! products?  You can mix and match things from all sorts of sets or just stick to the one stamp set.  Here I have used mostly current (C) products but one retired (R) stamp set and it can be replaced with any other current set of your choice.

  • Big News Stamp Set (C)
  • Petite Pairs Stamp Set (C)
  • Simply Stars Stamp Set (R)
  • Framelits - Project Life Cards& Labels Framelits Dies (C)
  • Mini Star and chevrons from Circle Card Framelits Set
  • Santa & Co Designer Series Paper - Current till 5 January 2014
If you are like me you tend to accumulate Designer Series Paper and so I use every bit I can for envelope decoration.  Here I lined the envelope using the Envelope Liner Framelits and added a couple of the small stars from the Circle Card Thinlits set to the front of the envelope

Now I can go back to making all my Xmas gift tags with a fresh Xmas brain :):)

I found this great video from Stampin' Up! showing how to make the star boxes featured in the new supplement.  I haven't tried them yet but plan to soon.  Check it out :)

I have been also continuing with my Christmas Card making before my trip too as Christmas is getting closer and closer by the minute......just 65 days now to be exact....Aaaaghhhh!!!  and I haven't even made half of my cards yet.  I will have to really get a move on in November.

I had some little stars floating around on my work area from a couple of previous projects using the Confetti Stars Punch

Confetti Stars Punch# 135861

so just had to make a shaker card.  I love shaker cards :):) Using the Shaker Frames.  They come in a pack of 6 lots of these varying sizes below for just $8.95.  On my card I used the largest outside circle

Shaker Frames# 124155

I adhered the Designer Series Paper on to the Pool Party cardstock first, then added the largest shaker frame circle.  I placed all my little star bits ( Pool Party, Whisper White and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper ones ) inside the shaker frame.  My DSP is from the retired Winter Frost Specialty DSP but you can use any of the current ones like the All is Calm Specialty DSP and would have the same great effect.

I then built up the top with a pool party circle by cutting 2 circles together from the Circles Collection Framelits Die to fit the shaker frame.

Circles Collection Framelits Die# 130911

Then the same idea using the Stars Framelits Dies.  I stamped the largest star stamp from the Bright and Beautiful Stamp Set and chose the Framelit that fitted the star and the next framelit 2 sizes down. Popped the star on the top with a little bit of Liquid Multipurpose Glue, added a couple of Rhinestone Basic Jewels and done.

Liquid Multipurpose Glue# 110755    Rhinestone Basic Jewels Embellishments# 119246

The Merry Christmas greeting is from the  "Good Greetings" Stamp Set
# 135017 in Clear and # 135014 in Wood which is still free till the end of October with every order over $300.00.  I hand cut the little flag ends to give it all a fancy finish!!

A New Home.................

Hi there Stampers

My daughter and son-in-law (SIL as I affectionately call him :* )  have bought their first home together and very soon now baby will make three xxxxoooo

So I thought I just must use the new "Holiday Home" photopolymer stamp set in the new Holiday Catalogue on page 16.  It also comes in a bundle including the matching framelits with a 15% saving.  Love those bundles.

It has a lot of Christmas little stamps in it too so can be used for many different occasions.  My next project is a few Christmas cards using it too.  Just so versatile. Pop on over to my website shop here to see a close up of what you get

So here is my card that I sent them to congratulate them on their new happy home

I have used Stampin' Up!s washi tape at the top and bottom of the card and also decorated the envelope flap with the washi tape as well.  Yellow is my favourite colour.  So happy and bright and sunny :):):)
The colour theme is Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake with a splash of whisper white in there as well.

Happy Spring to everyone!!!!

I have just come back from a week in Western Australia visiting the Margaret River Region and Perth.  The last capital city in Australia that I had not yet visited.  So another thing ticked off my Bucket List :)

I had a wonderful trip doing the wineries of the Margaret River Region and also driving through the beautiful countryside. We saw the Busselton Jetty which is the longest Jetty in the Southern Hemisphere and walked through the "Mammoth" Cave

Since my travels around the world with my daughter in 2009 it has become a tradition to take "Duck" with me and he now is in most of my holiday pics.  Can you see him in the "Cave"???
So I will be scrapbooking Duck's Adventures in WA and there are some good specials in the Clearance Rack at the moment for this very task.
